Jay Conger received his bachelor’s degree from Dartmouth College, his masters from the University of Virginia, and his doctorate of business administration from the Harvard Business School. Author of nine books and over 70 articles and chapters in various books, Dr. Conger researches leadership, innovation, boards of directors, organizational change, and the training and development of leaders and managers. His published articles appear in the Harvard Business Review, Organizational Dynamics, Business & Strategy, Leadership Quarterly, Academy of Management Review, and the Journal of Organizational Behavior. Jay is the author of Building Leaders: How Successful Companies Develop the Next Generation, which explores how corporations can most effectively develop future generations of leadership talent and of Winning ‘Em Over: A New Model for Managing in the Age of Persuasion. Formerly the executive director of the Leadership Institute at the University of Southern California, Conger is one of the world’s experts on leadership. He is frequently quoted in The Wall Street Journal analyzing current trends in business and the latest developments in leadership. Dr. Conger is a professor of organizational behavior at the London Business School and a senior research scientist at the Center for Effective Organizations at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. Prior to his academic career, he worked in government and as an international marketing manager for a high technology company.
