Jeffrey Pfeffer is the Thomas D. Dee II Professor of Organizational Behavior in the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University. He has spent his career studying people and organizations around the world in an attempt to understand why some companies win in the marketplace while others do not fare as well. He is the author or co-author of ten books including the three best sellers: The Knowing-Doing Gap: How Smart Companies Turn Knowledge into Action, The Human Equation: Building Profits by Putting People First, and Managing with Power: Politics & Influence in Organizations. He has also published more than 100 articles and book chapters.
